Currently September

Holy Moly!!! It's September and I haven't blogged in almost a month. Wow!
I have had a whirlwind of a summer. We started back yesterday sans kiddos. They are coming back on Thursday. I am getting my mind and my classroom ready. I have a very interesting class this year. I have 22 in the class. 11 boys and 11 girls. That NEVER happens. :) I have some very high-needs firsties this year. There are three sets of twins in the first grade. I have one set and 1/2 of the other two sets. So cool!!! There are going to be five adults in my room for at least an hour and a half each day. With 22 firsts and five adults…that doesn't leave a lot of room for moving around. UGH! I am going to have to get creative.

Currently May! Yep…May!!!

Welcome May!!!

Wow! I never thought I would get here. The snow is finally gone, the birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, and the weather is warmer. Well, two out of five isn't bad. :)

The snow is gone and the birds are chirping. :)

We are still waiting for the other three.

Loving that there is no more snow. YIPPEEEE!!!!

Thinking that my blog feels abandoned. 

Poor, poor blog. I find that when I am editing photos from photo shoots my blog gets put to the back burner. I have to find a way to be able to do both without going crazy. BALANCE> 

Wanting warmer days.

Even if there is the occasional fishbone. :)

Needing to edit photos. Yep! Our last wedding that we did is due May 24th. YIKES!

March Currently

Wow! It has been way too long since I last blogged. 

I sound like I am in a confessional. 

But I am still stalking all of you. :)

I am sitting here and listening to nothing. Wow!

It's almost March. I can feel it. Well, really I can't feel it at all. It was 1* this morning. I am so looking forward to spring.

My "little" grandma passed away Friday night. She was 4'10" at her tallest. :) We were able to have her for a long time. She would have been 90 in May. She will be missed. 

My foot has been bothering me. I am not sure what's going on. I'll have to wait it out.

What do red meat, olives, and clams have in common for ME?

Currently….Late

Hello All!

Happy New Year!

I know I have been slacking on my teaching blog. I am figuring out the balance between my photography business and my teaching blog and products. I am finding that I can't do both well and have a happy, healthy relationship with my family. :) Anyone else feel like that. So, as my photography winds down over the winter, I will be able to keep up with my blog and products. I am currently (no pun intended) :) beefing up my older products. I am having so much fun looking back and seeing where I started from. 

Here is my first blog post of the year. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. We were suppose to go back this past Thursday and Friday. We went to school on Thursday (we may have been the only school in New York open) and then had a snow day on Friday. These kiddos are going to be so messed up. This week, Monday is suppose to be freezing rain and Tuesday is back down to -30* with the windchill again. We shall see. :)

I am ready for the holidays to be over…not ready for the break to be over, but that's inevitable. :)

I want to finish the 12 Tribes of Hattie by Ayana Mathis. I am really enjoying this book. I just need to finish. 

One of my favorite memories of this past Christmas was when my daughter opened one of her presents. The look on her face was priceless. :)

Yep…two bags of Salt and Vinegar Potato Chips! Her favorite present!

Time for my favorite part of the month!

LISTENING: We are having an early Thanksgiving Celebration today with our high school friends. 

I can't wait! I made two pumpkin pies, two loaves of bread, and some chocolate-pumpkin cupcakes. Yummy!

LOVING: I have a three day week this week. We have a staff development day on Thursday and my last day of Project Based Learning class on Friday. WOOT WOOT!!! Did I forget to mention that Monday is Veteran's Day? and that I get that day off too! I almost forgot!

THINKING: I am grateful for so many things. I am really enjoying thinking about all of these things right now. 

WANTING: I really need my house cleaned. UGH!!!

NEEDING: I started switching out my clothes...I just have to finish. My daughter and I went shopping yesterday. It was so fun! I can't wait to show you my new OWL sweater. :)

A YUMMY PIN:

I am down one child in the household due to college. Really, when did this happen. It has been a real adjustment for our family. My youngest daughter misses her big sister so much!

I do have to say, it is a little easier in the morning to get ready with four people instead of five. :)

The weather has been amazing! 70* and sunny for the past few days! Woo HOO!!!!

That's what made this run so much fun.

It was chilly in the morning, but gorgeous all day long.

This is the start of my third leg. 

I need more time in the day...or another me. I just can't seem to get everything done. :)

My house is a mess. That is all. 

I know this has been all over Pinterest. 

I thought I would share it anyway.

Anytime I make cake or cupcakes in the fall (or anytime for that matter), I add a can of pumpkin instead of any other ingredient. Sometimes I have to add a splash of milk. It is delicious and good for you.

You should definitely try it!

Currently August

Where on earth did July go? I was stalking blogs and I totally forgot about Farley's Currently until I saw all the posts. Holy Cow!!! I guess I am just trying to pretend that August is not here yet! 

My dryer has been going non-stop. I have to get it all done before we leave tomorrow at 5:30 am. 

Woo Hoo! Can you tell I am excited? 

My daughter's boyfriend and his "associates" painted a couple rooms that have been in dire need of a paint job. Some of them have not been painted since we moved in (12 years ago). YIKES!!!

They look fabulous!

Seriously...August?

Did I tell you that we are leaving for vacation? Tomorrow. Yep! We are going on vacation!!!

I have to edit the photos I took at a wedding last week. There are so many!

I also have to get my work done for my grad class so that I can really enjoy my vacation.

I am working on it right now...can't you tell? :)

July Currently

Here is my July Currently...

I LOVE getting up in the morning. It is my favorite time. I sit and have my cup(s) of coffee and listen to the outside. We live out in the country so there are no traffic sounds.  Well, maybe the occasional tractor going up the hill. I just listen to the sounds of the birds singing. And then my chickens will come out and I'll here my favorite rooster trying to crow. I'll have to get him on video. He sounds like a teenage boy. :)

Here are our new residents. They have the most beautiful songs.

I began summer vacation last week, but I was preparing for my daughter's graduation party. So...now let vacation begin!

I can't seem to sleep in. From 3:45am to 4:45am I lay in my bed thinking of all the things I have to do. Then I give in and get up. Well, at least I get things done.

I begin my Daily 5 and Daily Cafe course today. I am so excited!

I find that if I put too much pressure on myself about blogging I don't enjoy my posts as much. Lately, I have been taking some time off and enjoying my family and friends. It seems like such a simple thing, but I was so crazy if I didn't post something. Don't get me wrong, I still go a little crazy when it has been a couple days. :) I LOVE blogging and stalking other blogs. 

I have made a plan up for the week. This seems to help me be a little more calm. :)

Currently JUNE!!! No Way!!!

I have been so busy. I haven't even looked to see when I last posted. 

I HAD to take a break from all that and join Farley's Currently. :)

Although this is my favorite Linky...I cannot believe it is already June!

It is bitter-sweet. I don't want to be away from my firsties, but I want summer to come!

One of our family's obsessions is Softball. We LOVE the College World Series. One thing on my bucket list is to get to Oklahoma to see it one day. 

12 full and 2 half days...I think I can! I think I can!

I have so much work to do before school ends. I don't just mean in my classroom. My oldest daughter graduates this year. Ahhhhh! There is so much to do!

I would like a new lens for my camera. Saving up for this one!

I am still trying to finalize my Summer Reading List.

My little tiny bantam thinks he is about 10 feet tall. He has the funniest crow. It sounds like he is a 13 year old boy! :)

It was a very hard decision for her. I am so proud of her.

Wanting: My laminator broke. UGH!!!

Needing: My family is so busy right now...track, softball, softball, play rehearsals, traveling, etc..

Summer Bucket List:

1. I need to make a list of books I want to read...any suggestions?

2. I am going to make my family spend time together. AND we are going to have a good time! :)

3. I really worked during vacation last year. This year I am going to relax and enjoy it.

Currently March WOOOHOOO!!!

Once again I am linking up with Farley.

I think this is one of my favorite blog posts all month. I so look forward to it.

I am off to Rochester today to see some friends I have not seen in a couple years. They only live 1 1/2 to 2 hours away. It's silly. So, I am super excited to see them tonight. :)

Oh WINTER, how I do not love thee right now. You are getting in the way of my running which makes me very cranky. :(

My formal observation is coming up at the end of March. If you read my post the other day, you would have read that it is taking my colleagues HOURS (like 10-15) to write up these lesson plans. If it's going to take me that long, I had better get  a-movin'!

Like: Birds

I do know that spring has to be coming. There are more birds out and I can hear them singing away. 

I saw this documentary on crows. Yes, crows.
