Meet IDA-TRE-XENA 3BD

I had a little contest to name my new computer.
Of course, I could not choose one...so I combined them all. Seeing that my real name is two names (Beth Ann) and my last name is hyphenated, (which I found out is my legal name when I went to get my enhanced license, who knew?).
I thought I should at least give my new girl a little pizazz too!
So, welcome Ida-Tre-Xena 3BD. I will have to think of a nickname for her. My firsties already think I am crazy because I have named one of my lenses Wanda. Well, they are so silly...I only named one of them! :)
Thank you to all who participated in naming her. I just love hearing from everyone.
Don't you just love opening up your mailbox and seeing "New Comment on ... ".
 I LOVE IT!

I am in the process of creating two units for ELA and Math to go along with some CCS.
I should have them up and ready by the weekend.
Get ready for...LOST IN SPACE!

I Have a Confession... This is My Obsession... Linky Party

Bonnie, over at Living a Wonderful Life, is hosting a Linky Party.
I LOVE Linky Parties!

Living a Wonderful Life

Obsession:
Number 1: Photography
Oh My! No one sees me without my camera now. I have filed for a DBA (Doing Business As). My husband printed off the form for me and I am going to do it! YIPPEEEEE! I love it as much as blogging and creating teacher products. Goodness!

Number 2: Blogging and Creating Teaching Materials
I have caught the bug.
I get so excited when my phone rings and it says "Product Sold".
Recently, most of you know that my (school) computer died. I ran right out and bought a new one because I knew what I would miss.
How sad is that? Well, I really needed one for my new business anyway :)

Number 3: Editing Photos
I guess that goes along with Photography. I do LOVE my Photoshop though.
I haven't become brave enough to try Lightroom.

Number 4: Peanut Sauce
I put it on EVERYTHING!!!

YUMMMMM!

Number 5: Running

Yep, I love it! 15 - 20 miles a week.
I just wish I had that runner's body. Maybe someday.

I posted a Freebie for you all. It's my June Song.
(to the tune of "The Itsy Bitsy Spider".

Happy Memorial Day!

I hope everyone had a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend.

It is so hard to believe that we are beginning to wind down. Maybe it has to do with the fact that my firsties are just beginning to wind up! 16 full days and 2 half days. Wow! Where did the time go?

In honor of my chickens hatching at my house (not in my classroom). Bummer!!!

I am going to giveaway my "Are you chicken? Place Value Game" to a random person who comments on this post. (You also have to be a follower :)

It's just so cute! It will make you smile.

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend...however long or short it is!

What an Interesting Day with a Little Giveaway!

I got up at 4:45. Regular for me. But it was my first "real" day off for our four day weekend.
My body still says, "Get up! We've got work to do!"
So, I get up and go down to see the photos I had uploaded from my camera the night before.
I go to wake up my computer...nothing...???
I try for the next couple hours to boot it up. Nothing!!!
This has happened two other times to me. They have been school computers. Great MacBook laptops. The first time I lost ALL of my stuff. I had NOTHING backed up!
The second time I hardly had anything on the computer.
This time I had everything backed up except for the photos I had just uploaded from my camera. I had deleted them...thinking they were safe.
UGH!!!

What a perfect time to buy a new computer...for myself!!!

Here she is. I need a name for her.
I will giveaway one of my products in my TpT store (your choice) if I choose the name you have given.

Good Luck!

On another note, this is what we came home to the other night.

Marsha and her chicks.
She's such a good mama!

We didn't have any luck with our incubator in school so the kids have been following our brooding hen, Marsha. How fun!

Have a wonderful day!

Schedule Cards and a Question

In keeping with my theme for next year. I downloaded these ADORABLE owls from Michelle,
The 3AM Teacher.

Photobucket

I am so excited to laminate these. I have to keep my calma and save them for next year. I have to take everything down anyway. They are sooooo cute though!

What do you have to do to get ready for the end of school? Or, if you are lucky enough to be out yet...what did you have to do?

Have a wonderful day!

Book Bin Labels

I have been looking and looking at my book bins. Ugh! I love the little labels I downloaded from someone a long time ago (I can't remember who created them, I am sorry :(  )
As I said, I really like them, but I couldn't find a great way to attach them so they didn't come off every time a student took a book out.
I found these CUTE rainbow borders from Graphics From the Pond.
I made them to be half a page. These will fit into my bins on the inside. I will secure them with double sided tape and hopefully they will stay put.

There are the months of the year along with various genres and authors.
Click on any of the pictures to get it from my TpT store.

A Shel Silverstein Celebration and Daily 5

My students wrapped up their Shel Silverstein poetry unit today.
They recited several poems to their parents, peers, and second grade friends.
I am so proud of them!

I wish I could have video taped some of them. They were so animated!

I would have to say salad. Any kind. Especially with tons of extra stuff in it.

3. What is your favorite TV show?
Modern Family

4. Do you have a lucky number? And if so, what is it?
My favorite number is 16. But, I think my lucky number is 32. Hmmm????

Another One Bites the Dust Linky Party

Amber, over at Adventures of a Third Grade Teacher, is having a linky party.
It's to reflect on your year. What a great idea!

Here goes...

The Great:

1. Starting a blog for my classroom.
I began with a google website. But it was too difficult to manage on a daily basis.
The blog is soooooo much easier!

2. Keeping my classroom neat and organized.
It is nice and tidy. But I would like to get it a little more fun and jazzed up.
I have posted about this before... I am longing for the owl theme from Schoolgirl Style.

I just love it!!!

3. Working on incorporating the Common Core Standards.
We are working on our Math curriculum this summer. I feel like with all the units you all have prepared and some of mine that I am in good shape for next year.

The Not So Great:
1. Not having enough time for Math.
I know this is not my fault entirely. I do not make up the schedule. I need to fight for more time next year. I do not feel I have taught with the program with fidelity only have a little more than half the time you are suppose to allow.
We did have fun though :)

2. Science and Social Studies
I need to put more time into this.

3. Complaining Critiquing
APPR had taken over a lot of my time. It is what it is and it's not going away.

It's your turn to share three things that were great about this school year, and three things that were not so great.
Be sure to link up your post with the linky party on Amber's blog.

Have a wonderful day!
