Back into the swing of things.

Even though I was totally prepared for a snow day yesterday....and this did not happen. I was NOT mentally prepared to go into school and meet up with my firsties.
But you know how it goes, you see their smiling, toothless faces and they give you hugs around your middle. You become totally prepared.
There is nothing like that look that says, "You are the best!", "I will do whatever you ask me to, unless I find something better to do!", "You are my FAVORITE teacher ever!, "I missed you sooooo much!", and "Are you really going to make me work today?"
So, I trudged on into school in the snow and freezing temps. (My chickens are on strike. That's how cold it is!) I saw my first student as I was walking into the front of the school. "Mrs. Kempf, Mrs. Kempf! I missed you! How was your Christmas? Mine was great! I got a .............and a ........... and a .............".
So, as I sit here making my yogurt and thinking about what I am going to do next week for an introduction to opinion writing, our new math unit, and Guided Reading books, I know there is hardly any other place I would rather be! : )
