Blue Ribbon Assembly and Thanksgiving Play

We have our Blue Ribbon Assembly this morning.
Our school is a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.

Our principal and superintendent went down to Washington D.C. to accept the award last week. We watched the whole award ceremony. The students didn't get to see them accept the award because it took so long to get to New York. It was after 3:00 before they were called up.
The teachers sat around our SmartBoards and waited. Our principal did not disappoint us. She danced up to get the award with a smile so big. We are so proud!!!

This morning we are presenting the award to the school, well really the entire community. We are having an assembly and then an open-house. Anyone in the community can come into our classrooms. I am a little nervous. :)

Our class, along with a second grade class, is going to sign the pledge to start off the whole ceremony. We have been practicing every day for a month. I think they are ready. :)

In the afternoon we are presenting our First Grade Thanksgiving Alphabet play.
These firsties have been working on this for a while. It is so cute!

I can't wait to post our Turkey's in Disguise.
So creative!

Have a great day!

  2. That's great Beth Ann - what an honor for your school. I'm sure it's partly because of great teachers like you. Have a great Thanksgiving!
