How many more days until Spring Break?

I know, I have it easy. My student teacher is doing extremely well, my students are so well behaved, and I don't have any really crazy parents. Hmmmmm... I am still looking forward to Spring Break. We have a four day week this week and then off for another! YIPPPEEEE!

There is an opportunity for me to go to second grade. I know I would be able to loop with the kids whose parents wanted them to be with me again. I am REALLY thinking about this.
Has anyone else looped with their class? What should I be thinking about that I haven't yet?

I have added another ELA/Math product linked to CCS. I am having so much fun creating these.

Green Wilma, Frog in Space is such a cute book. I LOVE Tedd Arnold!!!!!
I will be adding a little freebie to go along with this today. It's cold and snowing out! I know I should go for a run, but I am so comfy cozy right now :)

I was notified that my Springy Math Cards did not have 10 rabbits on the 10 card. You can download them again if you click on the link. So sorry about that! How did I miss it? :)

Enjoy your Saturday!
Have a wonderful day!

  1. I am a looping teacher...this is my fourth loop from first to second. If your class and parents are awesome I'd say go for it! It is amazing to see how much the kids grow and the connection with families is a great experience. I will tell you it does get tough in the spring of second since all the kiddos have been together for two years. We liken it to a brother/sister relationship. One day they love each other and the next you might be up to your ears in tattles. I just revisit our Responsive Classroom procedures...and watercolor paint...have you ever noticed how calm and focused kids are when they are painting? ;)

  2. I only looped once. I had great kiddos and great parents~ It WAS awesome to see them grow and change- but I won't be volunteering to loop again...

  3. I loop from Kindergarten to first grade. There are positives and negatives to it. It's amazing to see the growth they make in that time period. It is also a great experience to have some families for 2 years. I live in a small town so I see my kids and parents out and about. I'm still close to some of the families. One of the downsides is when you have difficult kids. My first loop was really difficult and had several challenging kids. You're able to do a lot with them when you have them for two years.

  4. I just purchased your Green Wilma unit. Cute stuff. Is there any way that you could change the font? It is a little hard for firsties to read.

    1. Thanks for letting me know. I thought it was such a cute font and then I went back and saw that some of the letters were definitely hard to read. You should have gotten an email that said it was revised. Let me know if I need to send it to you again.
      Thanks again!
