Calendar Time...2

We have been using our calendar pages for a bit now. My kiddos LOVE them!
I asked them yesterday what they liked most about calendar time..."Our Packets!!!".

Calendar Time

Do you have a calendar time during the day?
We have ours right before math.

One student is the calendar leader at the SmartBoard and the other students sit on the rug. I have found they are not as engaged as I would like them to be. :)

Our Math Specialist and I sat down and decided that these were the most important things for first graders to work on and learn during calendar time.

As you can see, some are engaged, some are definitely not! :)

Here is what we came up with to get them involved at all times.

Hello Friends!!!

It's been so long! Ahhhh!
I have had a fun-filled summer already and it's only half over. Sorry to the folks that are planning on going back soon. :)

I have been to three Phish Shows and Paris. Yes, I went to Paris. My husband had to go on business. Poor me!!! :)
I had an amazing time. There is so much to see and do. I could have spent three months over there and not seen everything. This was our first trip to Europe. I want to go back soon!

We were there for Bastille Day!
If you'd like to see more photos click on the picture. :)

We couldn't have asked for a better trip.

In a school related sense :), I have updated my Calendar from August 2014 to July 2015. It's free. Head on over and get it. I have multiple copies. I use them for Guided Reading groups, individual conferences, math groups, etc.

What was the best thing you did this summer?
I would love to hear. :)

Have a wonderful day!

Calendar Freebie

I have been looking around for a calendar to help me out during our morning time. I am solely using my SmartBoard for my Calendar time. I have used some very creative ones from great teachers. I made some cute pages using Scrappin' Doodles images.
I hope you like them.

If you email me, I can personalize your calendar for you. I will work on the other months this weekend.
All fonts are by Fonts for Peas.

Thanks and enjoy!

So much going on...so little time to blog.
I am hoping to have more time since I have the first week under my belt. My class is wonderful. I have two AMAZING teacher's aides in my classroom. I don't know what I would do without them.
My students are working hard to get into routines, learning the rules, and making new friends. They are doing such a great job.
I made up a calendar binder with the help of some other blogs. I will post in later in the week when I have everyone's information so I can credit everyone. It has worked so well. All the students are engaged the entire time.
I have dove into Daily 5. I have so many of you to thank for great resources. You are really helping me out. We had four minutes of Read to Self on Friday. I was so proud of them!
Here are just some of you who have helped me out so much with Daily 5:

The Two Sisters (of course)

These are just a couple of the resources I have found. I will post back and tell you how things are going.
