Countdown Day 3

Today was such a yucky day. It misted all morning and we weren't able to do our special surpass outside.
Oh Well! We had a shared iPad day. :)
My colleague and I got an iPad cart and had our firsties share iPads. They have never had to do this before. They have always had their own individual ones to use. Interesting. :)
There was only the sound of joyful chatter and iPads.
They had so much fun showing one another the apps they had already used.

Oh, did I mention that it was also mustache day?

We are going to start a trend…what do you think?

I mustache you a question...

Everyone loved it!

Team Kempf

I know it doesn't seem like it, but we are finishing up some academic stuff too.
"The most important thing about first grade" book is coming soon!

Have a wonderful day!

There may be a surprise tomorrow on my FB page. :)

Countdown…Day 2 :)

Yesterday we had such a blast!
It was BUBBLE DAY!!!

We bought these scented bubbles at Target. The kiddos LOVED them. They were actually trying to catch them in their mouths. They learned very quickly that they do not taste like they smell. :)

Here is a video we are going to show the kids today. They have also been writing and thinking scientifically about bubbles. So much fun!

Have a wonderful day!

First Day of Countdown

Hello All!
I hope you are enjoying your last days of school or are already relaxing in your summer vacation.
We have this week and a few days next week.
The good news is that I have all my report cards done and I am starting on my permanent records.
The bad news is that I am DONE and I can't imagine what my firsties feel like if I feel like this. :)
Anyway, we are dealing with some fun mixed in with our academic time.

Day 1 of our Countdown

Last year the kiddos popped a balloon and I had the activity scrolled up in the balloon with glitter. This year I have a firstie that cannot handle balloons. So, we decided to hide the activity in a box with glitter. The kids are still so excited about it!
Notice the glitter all over the carpet. I have not been scolded yet. :)

Our first day's activity was sidewalk chalk. The kiddos covered the blacktop with chalk. I love it!!!

Wait until tomorrow!!!
Have a wonderful day!

Camp Read-a-Lot

I was able to visit one of my colleagues as she was having a Camp Read-a-Lot Day with her class. I went outside to visit with the kiddos and read with one of my favorite "old" firsties.

Thanks Kara for letting me come and be part of your reading celebration.

We will be having a camping day of reading next week. We can't wait!

Have a wonderful day!

Five for Friday

I am linking up Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday.
I thought this would be a great way to get back into blogging.

Have you ever had one of those weeks? You get the emails from the parents who have not read the emails that you sent out asking you all sorts of questions about what was on said email (already sent out)! UGH! It's just been one of those weeks.
And then your student comes up and shows you what it's all about, why you are here... why you are teaching.
One of my firsties in the beginning of the school year could barely write a legible sentence. He has worked so hard to improve his handwriting.
Check out his work. AMAZING!!!

This little firstie decided to write a story. She created her own graphic organizer. This is on the APPR for NYS teachers K-12…yep K-12…can my firsties do it? YES!!!

We had our school wide picnic. So fun!

I was humbled by my softball team.
Our season ended and we are all so sad.
They are amazing girls.

Last, but not least…
Dance Party!!!

Head on over to link up!
Have a wonderful day!
