Naming and Action Parts

I tried to fix the link. It works on my computer. Hmmmm... Any suggestions?

This is my first attempt at a FREEBIE!!!
This is a fun activity to put into a center. I introduce naming and action parts of sentences along with the nouns and the verbs. We talk about how important it is to make our writing interesting.
I hope this works.
The only thing I wish I had changed were the directions on the last page. Oh Well!
Click on the picture to download. I hope you enjoy it! Naming and Action Parts Activity.

Summertime

Summer Vacation at last! I can sit around and do nothing all summer. HA!
My goal this summer is to create some really neat things that others can use. I am so inspired by all the great things out there.

Mary Mary, Quite Contrary. How does your garden grow?

We have revived a garden this year. It has been abandoned for a couple years now. My first graders and a class of second graders along with the high school FFA group is working very hard to get it ready for the growing season.
We have chosen not to plant too soon so we can get the most amount of produce in the fall when the students are actually there.
We started in March and have really come a long way. I will share some pictures and tell you about it on our journey.

Literacy Camp

Literacy Camp with first and second graders. We had a Literacy Camp day. Oh, it was so much fun. We put up our tents and set out our blankets for reading and writing.

It turned out to be such a beautiful day.

The students chose which "stations" would be featured for the day.
Science: Observing and writing about the butterflies the second graders had hatched.
Non-Fiction: Reading
Story Telling: Writing
Books sorted by different genres and authors.

We are going to do so much more next year. We are planning a "campfire" Morning Meeting. S'mores and so much more.

There were two classes participating this year. Next year, we have two more joining us already.
It was a great way to wind down, have fun, and still be working on things that are important in first grade.

Weather Report

I put this Weather Report out every week for centers. The students choose to do this after their centers are finished. I love the product that comes out each week. I will include some of the finished papers this week. This is my first try at sharing something. :)
